About This Event
Come up to Bear Head Lake State Park in Ely and visit the International Wolf center on this weekend camping trip, we will visit the wolf Center on Saturday for those who wish to attend, you can buy your own ticket on the site for the wolf center or the day of on site. Please note that some of their events require advanced ticket purchases so plan accordingly, such as their "What's For Dinner" or their "Howling Safari" however there will be other various events throughout the day that are free with basic admission. They are open from 10am-5pm. Otherwise enjoy the "Up North Boundary Waters Feel" of Bear Lake Head State Park, featuring various hiking trails from a Short Beach Hike to Backcountry trails where you have the chance to see various wildlife.
Pioneer with your own tent, food, and chair. Amenities include hiking and biking trails.
Fursuit Friendly?: Yes at the group camping site, no suiting whatsoever at the wolf center

See below map to view the location of the group site, there is only one group site at this state park. The Campsite does not have on site parking, you can drive in to drop off your items however there will be spaces down the road where you can park your vehicles.

Notes: You will need a state park parking permit to park your vehicle at the site, you can get one at the main building for $7 for a day pass or you can also get a $35 year round pass, if you do not get a pass your vehicle will get ticketed.
Wolf Center Tickets:
If you want to go to the wolf center the you have to purchase your own ticket from their website or buy on site. Some tickets require pre-purchase depending on the event. Purchase the tickets for the wolf center here: https://wolf.org/visit/plan-your-visit/

Quiet hours are 10 p.m.– 8 a.m
Event is 18+
Be respectful of the camping venue property and stay out of areas where guests are not permitted.
Do not cause any damage to venue property and if you notice anything already damaged or out of the ordinary, please see venue staff.
- 40 people max
- No on site group site parking, parking spaces available in parking lots nearby.
- Firewood will be provided, however you can also buy your own if you would like
- Firewood must be bought from approved vendors, or at the at the main building at the park as well during open hours.
- There will be a large group campfire site and a few smaller ones
- You must have a valid state park pass easily shown on your vehicle or you will get a ticket
- For those in fursuit, please stay away any fire in fire pits and elsewhere that would be dangerous to suit.
- There are horse trails in the park, no fursuiting on those trails as to not spook the animals.
- Please keep fur piles and other public fursuit displays to a minimum since this is a public event with the potential of other campground guests around.
- Be respectful of other attendees privacy, please ask if you want fursuit hugs or other interactions.
- Alcoholic beverages and THC/CBD products are not allowed!
- Swim at your own risk, there are no lifeguards
- Clean up after yourself, do not leave any food or coolers outside of your vehicles overnight as to not attract wildlife, and throw any garbage away in the dumpsters. Due to the various wildlife found here this rule will be strictly reinforced.
- Do not remove any plant-life from the park
- Be careful of poison ivy and ticks
- NO ELECTRICITY at the campsite, please provide your own
- No modern showers, Vault toilets available
- Overnight temperatures can get low, and with it being fall in Northern Minnesota please pack additional blankets and clothing to keep you warm overnight.
- The International Wolf Center trip is optional, tickets start at $18 if pre-purchased, it will cost more at the door. Some events require the pre-purchase of a ticket specific to said outing, please plan accordingly.
Due to the nature of the venue depending on reservations to cover the costs of the group site, registration is nonrefundable. So please insure you can attend before committing.
